Set your gym’s voice
Web Owner · AdminThis is the setting that separates “our gym texted me” from “some software texted me.” Spend fifteen minutes on it.
What you configure
Go to Settings → AI Agent.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Tone | How your gym talks — “direct and encouraging,” “warm, a bit sarcastic,” “no-nonsense” |
| Slang and phrases | Words to use naturally — how you say “workout,” what you call members, your standing phrases |
| Words to avoid | Anything that isn’t you. “Fitness journey,” “crush it,” “let’s gooo” |
| Emoji style | None, minimal, moderate, or heavy |
| Sign-off | How messages end — ”— Coach Mike,” “Team Iron Forge,” or nothing |
| Example messages | Real messages you’ve written. The AI learns your cadence from these |
Example messages matter most
Paste in three to five texts you’ve actually sent members. Not polished marketing copy — real messages, including the short ones.
The AI picks up sentence length, punctuation habits, and how formal you are far better from examples than from a description.
What voice does and doesn’t control
Controls: word choice, tone, slang, emoji, sign-off.
Doesn’t control: formatting rules and safety behavior. Those are fixed and can’t be overridden by voice settings — so a stray instruction in an example message can’t make the AI start sending walls of text or ignore throttling.
Testing it
Set every messaging skill to Assist, wait for drafts, and read them. If a draft doesn’t sound like you, adjust the voice profile — usually by adding to the avoid list or adding a better example.
Common corrections
| Draft feels | Fix |
|---|---|
| Too corporate | Add casual example messages; add corporate phrases to the avoid list |
| Too casual | Remove slang; add more measured examples |
| Too long | Add short examples — most gym texts should be one or two sentences |
| Generic | Add gym-specific vocabulary — your class names, your community’s in-jokes |
