Two authoring paths.

Upload a PDF

Best when you already have a waiver from a lawyer or a previous system. Upload it as-is and place fields where signatures and inputs belong.

Build one in Avex

A freeform canvas for writing a document from scratch — good for shorter agreements, policy acknowledgments, and photo releases you don’t need a lawyer for.

Steps

Go to Documents → New Document

Name it

What members see. “Liability Waiver,” “Membership Agreement,” “Photo Release.”

Upload a PDF, or write it on the canvas.

Versioning

Editing a document creates a new version. Signatures record which version was signed, so a member who signed v1 shows as having signed v1 — your records stay accurate when terms change.

If you make a material change, decide whether existing members need to re-sign. Marking it required again will prompt them.

Notes

  • Deactivate rather than delete. Deleting a document with signatures attached is destructive; deactivating retains the record.
  • Documents you’d want members to read but not sign can be created without a signature requirement.
