Connect Stripe to take payments

Web Owner only

Avex processes payments through Stripe. Money moves directly into your Stripe account — Avex never holds your funds.

Do this before you create plans. A plan can’t be sold until payments are connected.

Before you start

  • You need an email address you control for the Stripe account.
  • Have your business details ready: legal entity name, EIN or SSN, business address, and a bank account for payouts.
  • Only the gym Owner can connect Stripe. Admins and managers can’t see this screen.

Steps

Open payment settings

Go to Billing.

Choose Connect with Stripe

You’ll see two paths:

  • Already have Stripe? Sign in with those credentials and authorize Avex. Your existing customers, history, and payout schedule carry over.
  • New to Stripe? Create an account inline. Takes about five minutes.

Complete Stripe’s onboarding

Stripe collects your business details, identity verification, and bank account. This happens on Stripe’s own screens — Avex never sees or stores your banking information.

Return to Avex

Stripe sends you back automatically. Your connection status appears in Billing.

Confirm it worked

Two indicators need to be green before you can charge anyone:

IndicatorMeaning
Charges enabledYou can accept payments
Payouts enabledStripe can deposit into your bank

Stripe sometimes enables charges before payouts. You can start selling with charges enabled — the money accumulates and deposits once payouts clear verification.

If either stays off, Stripe is usually waiting on a document. Open your Stripe dashboard from Billing and look for outstanding requirements.

Managing Stripe from inside Avex

Once connected, your Stripe dashboard is embedded in Avex. From Billing you can see balances, payout schedule and history, and account details — without logging into Stripe separately.

Notes

  • Each gym connects its own Stripe account. If you run multiple locations under one Avex gym, they share one Stripe account. Separate gyms need separate connections.
  • Disconnecting from the Stripe side breaks charging. If you remove Avex from within your Stripe dashboard, Avex detects it, marks your gym as not connected, and stops attempting charges so nothing fails silently. Reconnect by running through this page again.
  • Switching Stripe accounts? Disconnect the old one first. A Stripe account can only be linked to one platform at a time.
