Set a score type

Web Owner · Admin · Manager · Coach

A workout without a score type can be viewed but not ranked. Setting one turns on result logging and the leaderboard.

The score types

TypeMembers enterRanked
For timeTime to completeFastest first
For loadWeight and unitHeaviest first
For repsTotal repsMost first
For roundsRounds plus partial repsMost first

Score direction — whether higher or lower is better — is set alongside the type and drives ranking.

Benchmark workouts

Turn on Is benchmark and set a benchmark key for named workouts you re-run — Murph, Fran, Grace, Cindy.

The benchmark key lets results compare across every time you’ve run it, not just today. A member can see their Fran time from last March next to today’s.

Use a consistent key. fran every time, not Fran once and fran-2026 the next.

Rx and Scaled

Any scored workout requires members to mark Rx or Scaled when logging. They rank in separate divisions, with Rx above Scaled on the combined view — standard box convention.

Why this matters

The daily leaderboard is a core engagement driver. A day’s WOD with no score type produces no board and no reason to log.

Set a score type on every WOD you’d want ranked. It takes five seconds and it’s the difference between members logging and not.
