Custom member fields
Web Owner · AdminCustom fields let you record information Avex doesn’t have a built-in field for — shirt size, locker number, goals, injury notes, a parent’s contact for a youth member.
There is no separate screen for defining custom fields. They’re created as part of a CSV import, then filled in and edited directly on member records.
Creating fields
Custom fields are defined during CSV import.
Include your extra columns in the CSV
Add a column for each piece of information you want to track — shirt_size, locker, goal, whatever fits your gym.
Upload and map
During the mapping step, columns that don’t match a built-in Avex field can be created as custom fields.
Confirm the import
The fields now exist on every member record.
Filling them in afterward
Once a field exists, staff edit its value on any member record — you don’t need another import to populate someone.
Where they appear
- On the member record, alongside built-in details
- On the member form when editing someone
- In CSV export, so what you track comes back out
Common uses
- Shirt or apparel size
- Locker or key fob number
- Goal or focus area
- Injury notes and restrictions
- Referral detail beyond the standard source list
- Guardian contact for youth members
Notes
- Custom fields are per-gym. Yours are yours.
- Plan the set before your first import. Adding fields later is easiest through another import, so it’s worth deciding what you want to track up front.
- Members don’t see or edit custom fields — these are staff-facing.
